Peter
T. Pontsa, R.D.T.He has written numerous articles in the Canadian Journal of Dental Technology and the Journal of Oral Health on clinical and dental technology, regulatory issues in the dental industry and reports on the American Prosthodontic Society scientific programs. He also writes and co-publishes the Dent-Liner, our newsletter covering issues which concern dental health professionals.
Mr. Pontsa designed and implemented a Basic Crown and Bridge Course
for technicians that he presented at George Brown College. He has received
awards for seminars he conducted concerning the VKS Attachment Systems.
He has lectured to dentists, dental technologists and dental students across
Canada.
Mr. Pontsa is a member of the Association of Registered Dental Technologists
of Ontario and has been an associate member of the American Prosthodontic
Society. Currently, Mr. Pontsa serves as president and Technical Director
of Dent-Line of Canada Inc., a member of D.I.A.C., the Dental Industry
Association of Canada.
In 1998, Mr. Pontsa held the position of Vice President for the College of Dental Technologists of Ontario and was a member of the Executive Committee. During his four year term in office, he served as Chair of the Legislation and Policies Committee, the Chair of the Complaints Committee and was a member of the Quality Assurance Committee. He devoted much of his time to help the College develop policies, guidelines, regulations and a Quality Assurance Program. In the fall of 2000, Mr. Pontsa returned to the College of Dental Technologists of Ontario, and in 2001 served as President of the College.
